Changing GMO Policy Following Brexit: panel discussion
Time & Location
About the Event
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) – despite scientific consensus there is an ongoing public debate over the safety and efficacy of this technology. With most legislation formulated on the EU level in 2001 the policy has yet to catch up to the science. Brexit presents a unique opportunity to reformulate UK policy on GMO regulation. We call for legislation reflective of Britain’s status as a world leader in the life sciences that fosters innovation and transparency in GMOs, while creating an environment the public feels safe in.
