Political Party Financing in Mongolia: Strengthening a Democracy
Time & Location
About the Event
As a developing and relatively recent multi-party democracy, the nation of Mongolia faces several challenges threatening the progress and integrity of its democratic process. Involving disproportionately large corporate influences, severe historical political turbulence, and high levels of public consensus regarding large-scale political party corruption, these issues can all be linked to the financing practices of Mongolia’s political parties by a significant extent. In this policy paper presentation, we review Mongolia’s issues and current practices, to ultimately propose a system of reforms to help strengthen the country’s democracy.
